On October 17, 2087, Pope Innocent XIV, the second Pope from the United States, was elected by the College of Cardinals. Now, he oversees a world that is almost entirely Catholic, a world that is turning to monasticism in record numbers. Feeling the need to further consolidate papal control over the monastic world, Pope Innocent has called for the establishment of the Synod of Monastic Consolidation, hoping to bring some order to the rapidly expanding monastic orders. Delegates—bishops, canon jurists, and everyone in between—must set about creating a new Mother House of Mother Houses, balancing personal interests with the success of the Church, all with the future of monasticism in their hands.
