United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is a vital institution in protecting displaced populations and upholding human rights worldwide, and has been since its establishment in 1950. This committee will focus on preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalism while protecting and expanding civic space through the preservation of freedom of assembly, expression, and the press.
