The show can’t always go on…

On July 14, 2023, SAG-AFTRA authorized what would become the longest actors’ strike in Hollywood history. Coming just 73 days after the Writers Guild of America declared their own, production in film and television ground to a complete halt. This strike was the culmination of struggles over residual pay on streaming services, unfair wages for working actors, and fears over studio use of developing AI technologies. Delegates will attempt to pave a new path for this century-old industry, making both allies and enemies along the way. Can Hollywood keep up with an ever-evolving world? Or will it be lights out?
